Snow SportsFrom our location in the Central Belt we are able to access the majority of Scottish Ski Centres with a few hours using one of our mini buses. We are also within half an hours drive from Midlothian Ski Centre. Our current snowsport provision extends to organised school, youth groups and adults looking to improve their existing skills or pursue or renew a Ski Leader qualification. We also have a range of ski, snowblade and snowboarding equipment available for hire. By arrangement our staff can provide support to schools and youth groups travelling abroad on ski trips. Adult CoursesSkiing or Snowboarding Improvement CoursesDuring the day of instruction our aim will be to improve your confidence and develop your existing technique to help you progress to the next level. Our aim is to run these courses at one of the Scottish resorts. Course suitable for skiers who can do basic snow plough turns. Snowboarders need to be able to use falling leaf or basic turns to descend a moderate slope. Both Skiers and snowboarders need to be able to use a tow as well. Ski Leader AwardThis is a 7 day course for basic parallel skiers who are looking to lead and teach groups in a mountain ski resort. The award covers a range of responsibilities including; planning, organising, supervising, leading and instructing. It also includes content such as navigation, weather, equipment and introducing skiing to children. Throughout the course candidates will be assessed on leadership, technical skiing and teaching ability. Ski Leader RevalidationAlpine Ski Leaders are required to attend a Refresher Course every 3 years in order to keep their award up to date. There is no formal assessment. The venue will depend on snow and weather conditions at the time. Transport may be available (by arrangement). Participants must purchase there own lift pass. Schools and GroupsWe are able to offer dry slope skiing as a half or full day activity. Due to the travelling times involved we are only able to offer skiing at one of the Scottish mountain resorts as an extended day trip. Multi day trips in Scotland or abroad can be organised by arrangement. |
