Mountain Biking

From our location in the Central Belt of Scotland we are able to access a number of different venues for mountain biking. The Union Canal is only a couple of minutes ride from the centre and a number of our routes use this as a starting point. All our instructors have a good knowledge of routes within the local area and will be able to tailor your trip according ability of the group.

Using one of minibuses we are able to access areas slightly further a field such as Devilla Forest near Kincardine, Gartmorn Dam Country Park near Alloa or for groups looking for a challenge, Glentress Forest near Peebles and Carron Valley Forest near Denny. Due to the travel time involved a full day session is required.

We currently run a fleet of Giant bikes all of which are maintained to a high standard by our resident bike mechanic. We have a wide variety of sizes of bikes and associated equipment such as helmets, gloves and waterproofs to kit out our groups.

Junior Courses

During our summer programme we run Level 1 to Level 3 biking courses for young people. Biking is also offered as an activity as part of our popular multi-activity courses.

Level 1

An introductory course where having a fun day out is our biggest priority. Venues for this course would normally include a trip along the Union Canal tow path.

Level 2

Having completed Level 1 we?ll visit venues slightly further a field and take you on longer trips that are more challenging. We?ll teach you to ride your bike over rougher terrain and show you how to navigate your way along the trail. We may even show you some trail side maintenance should the need arise!

Level 3

For the fit and the brave. We often run our level 3 courses at Glentress Forest near Peebles, which has some of the finest single track biking trails in the UK. This will allow you to practice and develop the skills learnt at Level 2. A day at Glentress is always guaranteed to put a smile, and some mud, on your face.
